Rhode Island: It's All in Our Backyard

Rhode Island ranks one of the best places to work for LGBT community

October 7, 2013 by lauren

According to a new study by XpertHR, Rhode Island  is among the best places for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) individuals to work. States were evaluated based on offering the most progressive and friendly work environments for LGBTs.

“Although federal law does not protect LGBTs from employment discrimination, we examined states that prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, state-specific laws offering same-sex benefits, hate crime laws, and a positive working/living climate to determine the best working environments for LGBTs,” says Peggy Carter-Ward, Head of Content, XpertHR.

We are proud to have such progressive and friendly employers and neighbors in Our Backyard.
